Chances are that if you're reading this you're involved with music in some way, most likely you're a musician. Listening is obviously a fundamental requirement for being involved with music. It`s also a fundamental requirement for being involved with the music business. Mack Music takes listening to our customers very seriously. We appreciate all of your feedback. Read on to find out what we are doing with it!
There are many facets of listening as it relates to music. Listening to songs for enjoyment. Listening to a particular musician's performance to understand and enjoy its nuances. Listening to a song's mix in the studio. Listening to a guitar as you play it in the music store. And on and on.
Being in the music business introduces more opportunities to listen. Selecting the best-match speaker for an amp. Fine tuning the 'voicing' of an amp. Discerning which output transformer best achieves the tonal vision of the amp designer. And on and on.
However, if you're in the business of providing a musical experience to your customers (Mack Music is!), the most important aspect of listening is to your customers!
Every scrap of feedback that we gather from our existing and prospective customers, whether it be from emails, reviews, conversations, watching guitarists experience our products, etc., is the most valuable asset we possess.
Without that we simply don't know if we are achieving our goals. And if we don't know that it's impossible to make progress.
We at Mack Music take feedback very seriously. That's why you'll see the following new product introductions in the coming months:
1. NEW Heatseeker combo. Yes, we're launching a combo version of our popular Heatseeker amp ... and we are committed to simultaneously launching a head and combo version of every new model we release in the future!
2. NEW 6V6 amp. We love EL84s ... rich, resonant, well balanced, great overdrive and distortion. However, we know there are lots of guitar players that LOVE 6V6 based amps too. So, we'll be launching our own Budget Boutique 6V6 monster!
3. NEW Heatseeker HS-36. If two EL84s are good, four must be better ... right? The HS-36 will feature quad EL84s to produce (yes, you guessed it!) 36 watts of rich tube tone. The 36 will provide additional clean headroom, but will still feature the power tube overdrive and distortion that we love at volume levels that won't melt your face. This is possibly the ideal power level for stage work regardless of venue size ... we can't wait!
4. NEW 1X12 CB cabinet. We are changing the cab design of the 1X12 CB to make it easier to build (we're doing everything possible to avoid price increases - that's what Budget Boutique is all about!) and to make it look even better! Rest assured that the new 1X12 CB will retain its ability to produce surprising bass response, luscious clean tones and gorgeous overdrive and distortion!
5. NEW amp head cabinet. Like the 1X12 CB, Mack will be revising our standard head cabinet to make it easier to build ... and to improve its looks! We're also experimenting with new cabinet finishes so there might a surprise in that department too!
6. NEW construction methods. Possibly the biggest announcement is that Mack has completely revised how we manufacture our amps. The resulting products will feature Teflon high-temperature wire, improved fasteners, anodized chassis' with silkscreened grahics that will look AWESOME and many more improved details ... and our prices won't increase! Don't worry, all Mack products will remain hand-wired and will feature eyelet circuit cards (no PC boards here!). This is all deep tech stuff, but we're very excited about what these changes will mean to our products and customers. Oh yeah, how about one to two week turn around (maybe even less - we're still working out the details!!) on ALL orders ... a hand made, boutique amp that you only have to wait days for instead of months ... is that cool?? Stay tuned for details!
As you can see, we have a lot of work ahead of us! And, we attribute every one of these initiatives to customer feedback.
